I believe that all of you have losted your way on the sea, so I show the map again.

We have sailed the route through 1 to 5 and today we will head for Kongsbreen and Ny-London.

Kongsbreen is an avtive glaicer and also rich for bird wildlife.

We have wacthed many birds yeaterday so the calving is the main point this morning.

In Greenland and Argentina, I also watched the calvings of glaciers that are all huge is the world list.

Thus, the chunk of the ice is also incredible huge that the ship has to keep away for the security.

The calving happens very quickly. Sometimes when you heard the sound, the ice has fallen down in seconds.

You have to get ready with your camera all the time for catching this moment.

It's an interesting part while watching the active glacier.

However, my lens got moisture yesterday is still malfuntioned today.

Thus, I'm a little depressed in this rainy morning.

(The calving of Kongsbreen)

(The calving of Perito Moreno glacier, Argentina)

Due to this reason, I don't want to trace the birds today but I catch the wave caused by the calving.

You may also see the photo of the calving of Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina. The ice chunk is much bigger.

The zodiacs are all moving towards the glacier waiting for the calvings.

No one knows the best position. It totally depends on the luck.

By the way, the kayakers recorded their movie when they encountered the wave.

"Oh My God" tells how they feel about it.

As for the height of Kongsbreen, compared with the zodiac, it should be about 30m.

I'm not sure whether it's safe to get so close to the glacier.

But the zodiac driver is professional to secure the tourists.

Except for the calving, the scene of blue ice and transparent ice is also interesting.

Why the glacier ice looks blue? It's said that its water molecule absorbs some red light.

No matter the blue ice or the transparent ice are both beautiful.

Even I've seen glaciers many times, the glacier is still attractive to me.

In the afternoon, we land at Ny-London which was once the marble quarry.

A man named Ernest Mansfield found Ny-London in 1910. No doubt, the marble is treasurable.

However, this dreamer failed for the marble coming out of the ground was too fractured.

The ruins of the old buildings and machinery are available nowadays.

Besides, this area is the only comfirmed breeding site in Svalbard for the Long-tailed Jaeger.

Except for the Long-tailed Jaeger, there are also other birds here, including Long-tailed Ducks, Common Eiders, and Barnacle Geese.

If you think these birds are common and not special at all, the red-throated diver should be very impressive.

It's the only one we found in Spitsbergen.

Incubating the eggs in the center of the lagoon is to avoid the predator such as the arctic fox.

Because my telescopic lens is malfunctioned, the image taken by other lens is not so good and detailed.

At another side of the hill, we also find the svalbard reindeer which is the smallest subspecies of reindeer.

Of course, the image is also bad without my lens.

Now, you could realize why I'm so depressed today.

The only lucky thing is that the Long-tailed Jaeger is fearless of humans.

Sometimes the jarger hunts small prey in ploughed fields or golf-courses.

Therefore, I could take photos of it very closely.

By the way, the Chinese name "賊鷗" for the skua indicate its feeding habit by stealling food from other birds.

Howver, the long-tailed jaeger is more likely to catch its own food on migration.

At night, though I also fall asleep, there is a Fancy Dress Party in all white to celebrate the midnight sun.

Hmm, I don't have any cloth or item in white, except for the towel and toilet paper.

That is not the main point, because I really want to sleep even the daytime lasts 24 hours.
