Except when we were in the "Aurora Village" of Yellowknife, we joined other Aurora tour members, driving to various places in the wild.
Though Indian teepees were the great features of "Aurora Village" as the foreground of your photos, there were so many tourists with bad manners using flashlights ot flashbulbs that it was uncertain how our photos would turn out.

On Facebook, someone in the Northern Lights Club introduced a must-visit shop called Mother Earth Rocks. The hosts are Laura and Danny, and Laura teaches tourists how to make their own dream catchers.
In addition to dream catchers, you could also buy carved stones in the shape of polar bears or other animals, and other accessories.
Our new Taiwan friends at Yellowknife also visited this shop before and told us how kind Laura and Danny were.

When I chose our accommodation in Yellowknife, I checked the website of the Discovery Inn. Some of their suites seemed to be equipped with small kitchenettes.
Thus, I thought that we would had a small kitchenette in our room but actually we didn't.

In addition to Aurora photography tours and city sightseeing tours, there are many things for you to do during your stay in Yellowknife, such as snowmobile driving, ice fishing, dog sledding and so on.
Because of my budget, I only chose to only do an interesting dog sledding trip that afternoon.

Yellowknife is a small town with an average winter temperature of -30°C. Hence, things that you could do easily in other warm regions was often tough here.

About watching the northern lights, locations and countries are various.
Yellowknife in Canada and Fairbanks in Alaska are quite popular destinations while Norway, Sweden, Finland and other places are also options for northern light watching.
If you prefer challenging locations, Iceland or Greenland are well known for the unstable weather, but would be great while the northern lights are happening nearby glaciers or lagoons.

除了Aurora Village這種定點式的極光拍攝之外，我們也有參加開著車到野外拍極光的行程
雖說 Aurora Village 有原住民帳篷可以當前景，但是遊客實在太多了（可能還不乏沒品的、拿手電筒亂照的某國人）
我個人是很好奇，那個傻子會認為小小的手電筒可以把眼前的雪地或前景照亮的？
